The Descent 2, It's Complicated and the Tooth Fairy

In today’s podcast, we review 3 movies: Tooth Fairy, It’s Complicated and The Descent: Part 2. Ross wasn’t able to join us, so we keep our Michelle Rodriguez jokes to a minimum. Yes, I know she isn’t in any of these films. That doesn’t stop us from making fun of her. :)

If you think we’re wrong with any of our reviews, or have something to add to the mix, please feel free to email us at podcast@goodbaduglyfilms.com or leave us a voice mail with Skype.

May the 4th be with you…

The Invention of LyingWe’re a man down to start, but Johnny joins us a few minutes into the show. With the Golden Globes just over, take a listen to what we think about how it all turned out. Were the winners deserving? Why was everyone so angry? Why do I avoid watching awards shows if I can? Get the answers to these questions right at the beginning of the show. Other stuff we discuss:

  • Is Ivan Reitman the right man for the job of helming Ghost Busters 3? lovelybones
  • Box Office results… Does the Avatar hate-fest continue from Allen?
  • Peter Jackson’s The Lovely Bones
  • Just when you thought there couldn’t be more… Avatar news
  • Ross brings us word of a Jessica Rabbit lady in the UK
  • Four Brothers is getting a sequel? WTF?
  • Mamma Mia! is getting a prequel, much to Ross’ delight
  • Serial Killer Movies
  • Canadian Films/Directors
  • and more!

Our movie review this week was going to be Peter Jackson’s, The Lovely Bones, but Johnny and Ross didn’t get a chance to watch it. The Invention of Lying by Ricky Gervais was chosen instead because more of us had seen it. Listen to what Ross, Allen and John think of it. How does it compare to Stranger Than Fiction? Defending Your Life? Strong points? Weak points?

If you’ve seen either The Invention of Lying or The Lovely Bones and think that we missed some key points or didn’t talk about a certain aspect of something long enough, please feel free to send us an email with your comments to: podcast@goodbaduglyfilms.com. You can also comment directly on this article, or send us a voice mail via Skype.

The next movie we’ll be reviewing is Drew Barrymore’s, Whip It.

GOOD BAD UGLY
MARK The Frighteners Ghost Ship The Fog (2005)
ROSS The Shining The Haunted Mansion Ghosts Can’t Do It
ALLEN Sixth Sense The Haunting in Connecticut Ghost Story
JOHN Ghost Busters Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2 Ghost Dad*

*It turns out that Mark was right after all. He wasn’t dead, just in a coma.

Our next GBU List is going to be coming to you thanks to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s new film, Tooth Fairy. It’s about an unapologetic hockey enforcer that for some reason incurs the wrath of the powers that be and as punishment, has to spend a week as a tooth fairy. An instant classic with Oscar Buzz written all over it. Put on your thinking caps boys and girls and send us in YOUR Good, Bad and Ugly lists for Fairy movies. You can either send us a voice mail via Skype, or send us an email to: podcast@goodbaduglyfilms.com. If we get your lists before next Monday afternoon (PST), we’ll read them on the podcast and post them here on the website. Just imagine the fame and fortune that’ll come from that. :) – Mark
